Onze dieren<\/h1>\n

Onze kudde bestaat uit 75 stamboek Huacaya alpaca’s in verschillende kleuren, wat zorgt voor heel veel variatie in de wei. Daarnaast hebben we 30 Walliser Schwarznase schapen, een prachtig langharig schapenras uit Zwitserland<\/h4>\n

De voeding, verzorging en leefomgeving van onze dieren professionaliseren we continue om zo hun welzijn en gezondheid te optimaliseren.\u00a0 Ieder jaar verwelkomen\u00a0 we tussen april en september 20 tot 30 veulens, die allemaal voortkomen uit superieure dieren met bewezen bloedlijnen. Hierdoor is onze kudde de afgelopen jaren steeds verder uitgebreid en verbeterd als het gaat om wolkwaliteit, kleur, bouw en karakter van de dieren.<\/p>\n

Huacaya alpaca’s<\/h1>\n

Huacaya (spreek uit: wacaja) alpaca’s horen bij de kameelachtigen en hebben anders dan de langharige suri’s een korte dichte vacht. In Europa is ongeveer 90% van alle alpaca’s huacaya. <\/h4>\n

Huacayas komen oorspronkelijk uit het Andesgebergte, waardoor ze goed bestand zijn tegen allerlei soorten weer. Merries kunnen in principe zelfstandig bevallen. Huacaya alpaca’s leven het liefst in kleine kudde’s van ongeveer 20 dieren. Alpaca’s die alleen worden gehouden kunnen letterlijk doodgaan van eenzaamheid. <\/p>\n

Ieder dier heeft zo’n 500 vierkante meter grond nodig. Over het algemeen zijn het nieuwsgierige en zachtaardige dieren. Ze zien er ongelooflijk knuffelbaar uit, maar daar deze dieren van nature niet van. Spugen naar mensen zullen ze niet zo snel doen, maar onderling spugen de dieren soms wel om de rangorde in de kudde te bepalen. <\/p>\n

De verzorging van huacaya alpaca’s is niet erg intensief. In de zomer kunnen de dieren af met voldoende gras, water en beschutting of schaduw bij extreme hitte. In de winter kan dit worden aangevuld met hooi, alpacabrokken en\u00a0 geweekte bietenpulp. Alpaca’s moeten \u00e9\u00e9n keer per jaar voor de zomer geschoren worden. Alpacawol is vergelijkbaar met kasjmier en veel zachter dan de meeste schapenwol en daarom steeds meer in trek voor o.a. kleding.<\/p>\n

Walliser Schwarznase<\/h1>\n

Voor ons de mooiste schapen die er bestaan! De Walliser Schwarznase is een langharig bergschaap uit de regio Wallis in Zwitserland. Deze sterke karakteristieke bergschapen met zwarte snuit, oren, knie\u00ebn en voeten hebben een zacht en sociaal karakter en zijn heel zelfredzaam.<\/h4>\n

Rammen kun je herkennen aan hun grote gekrulde hoorns en hun platte neus. Ooien hebben kleinere\u00a0 naar buiten gedraaide hoorns Hun lammetjes worden ook wel “the cutest animals of the world” genoemd. Het is iedere lente weer een feest om er een paar te verwelkomen. Hun prachtige langharige vachten kun je heel mooie vilten tot vloer- of wandkleden.<\/p>\n
